Who we are
Editorial Board
We The Vetted's ratings are editorial judgments — so you deserve to know who makes them. These are the people who hold Illinois candidates to a constitutional-originalist standard.
We The Vetted is an openly conservative voter guide. We grade Republican candidates against a constitutional-originalist standard — the Second Amendment first, plus the First, Fourth, Fifth, and Tenth Amendments. We do not score Democratic candidates. Every rating is our own editorial assessment based on public records, votes, and candidate statements. No rating can be bought.

Robert Bevis
Founder/Owner Law Weapons Inc.
Robert Bevis is the founder of We The Vetted and the owner of Law Weapons & Supply, a family‑run Illinois firearms dealer, gunsmith, and manufacturer. A lifelong defender of the Second Amendment, he has spent years on the front lines of Illinois' gun‑rights fight — [including as a lead plaintiff challenging the state's ban on so‑called "assault weapons" in federal court]. He built We The Vetted to give Illinois voters an honest, unbought answer to one plain question: where does each candidate actually stand on the Constitution? When he isn't at the shop or in the fight for our rights, he's working to make sure the people asking for your vote can be held to their word.

Roger Krahl
Roger Krahl owner and president of R Guns
Roger Krahl is the owner and president of R Guns, a firearms manufacturer and retail store in Carpentersville, Illinois, which he has operated since founding the business in June 1994. His company specialized in AR-platform rifles — historically about 80% of his sales, amounting to tens of thousands of firearms sold over the years — until the Protect Illinois Communities Act (PICA) forced him to halt Illinois manufacturing and sales and build out-of-state storage for his inventory. A gun owner since age 11, Krahl has become one of the state's most outspoken critics of PICA, publicly calling it a clear violation of the Second Amendment and joining legal challenges against the law. Through R Guns, he is a member of the Federal Firearms Licensees of Illinois (FFL-IL), which advocates for gun dealers across the state.
